Tsaa Laya Tea Salon at Art Fair 2019

In celebration of Filipino creativity, Tsaa Laya launched its first pop-up tea salon at this year’s Art Fair Philippines from February 21 to 24, 2019. Tsaa Laya collaborated with local brands from fine dining to cocktails and furnishings to create an experience for tea patrons to rediscover our Philippine herbal teas.

A keystone offering of the tea salon is its high tea dégustation, which is a product of the creative encounter between Tsaa Laya and Simply Thai Dining. Teasing the full potential of Southeast Asian flavors, Tsaa Laya’s herbal infusions were meticulously paired its local contemporary savories, traditional sweets and bespoke Asian desserts of Simply hai. A popular dégustation set of the salon was the Asian Bespoke Desserts where Tsaa Laya’s Java Banaba and Pandan were paired to compliment and contrast with Simply Thai’s curated Asian desserts that featured mango sticky rice shortcake, Thai spiced chocolate cake, kaffir lime cheesecake, durian cake, and mousse mini-cakes flavoured with green, yellow, and red curry. At the end of the meal, patrons refreshed themselves in an unconventional way through Simply Thai’s gelato, made of silky smooth bases blended with Asian sweets and spices.

After breezing through multitudes of artwork at the Art Fair, art patrons had the opportunity to find respite and retreat with the chic furniture and tropical garden ambience of the salon. The immersive garden experience of the salon was made possible through the generous support of Ms. Yolanda Johnson of Soumak Designs.

In the garden salon, patrons took the opportunity to cool themselves down with our signature cocktails and mocktails, made in collaboration with Proudly Promdi, a proud champion of traditional Filipino spirits from Adams, Ilocos Norte. Crowd pleasers from the iced beverage menu were Rosas, which is a cocktail made with Tsaa Laya’s Tropical Summer fruit tea base shaken with Rose Water, Mango Extract and Lemon Juice, and Cassandra, which is a teasing cocktail having the base of Tsaa Laya’s Lemon Ginger blended with Proudly Promdi’s bugnay wine, angostura bitters, honey syrup, and cinnamon.

Although the Art Fair has already concluded, the offerings of the tea salon are just beginning. Starting March 2019, you will be able to experience our high tea dégustation sets at Simply Thai in Greenbelt 5, Makati City; and the cocktails and mocktails at Roots Katipunan along Katipunan Avenue in Quezon City. You can also purchase Tsaa Laya teas themselves, either as teabags or looseleaf, at Roots Katipunan and on our website. Catch us as we have more surprises for our next pop-up tea salon in the coming months!
